Hi, I’m Christen — the dyer, maker, and color-obsessed soul behind A Splash of Fiber.

What started as a simple love for yarn turned into this wild, wonderful adventure of turning emotions into color. I’ve always believed color has its own kind of language — the way certain shades can calm you, spark creativity, or just make you smile on a gray day. That’s what I chase every time I step into my dye kitchen: those little moments of magic when colors melt together just right.

Each skein I dye is done in small, intentional batches — no mass production, no shortcuts — just pure color play, patience, and a whole lot of heart. My yarns are meant to tell a story, to invite you to slow down and create something beautiful with your own two hands.

When I’m not dyeing yarn, I’m usually knitting or crocheting my own handmade pieces — cozy hats, soft accessories, and home treasures that carry the same spirit of warmth and creativity.
